Sewer Scope Inspections in Tampa Bay

A sewer scope inspection is a specialized inspection that uses a small camera to visually examine the inside of the home’s main sewer line. During the inspection, the camera is inserted through an accessible cleanout or other approved entry point and sent through the sewer line to look for visible conditions such as cracks, breaks, blockages, root intrusion, separation, bellies, or other potential concerns. This helps give buyers, sellers, and homeowners a better understanding of the condition of the sewer line at the time of inspection.

Sewer line problems are not always visible during a standard home inspection because the piping is usually buried underground or hidden beneath the structure. A home may have working plumbing at the time of the inspection but still have issues developing inside the sewer line. Tree roots, aging pipes, ground movement, improper installation, and previous repairs can all affect the condition of the line. A sewer scope inspection can help identify visible issues before they become expensive repairs after closing.

At JBL Home Inspections, we offer sewer scope inspections in Tampa Bay to help provide additional peace of mind when buying or maintaining a property. This service is especially helpful for older homes, homes with large trees nearby, homes with cast iron or clay sewer lines, or properties where drainage concerns are suspected. If visible defects or concerns are found, we recommend further evaluation by a qualified plumbing professional so you can make a more informed decision before moving forward.
